Kythera Chora or just Chora is the capital of the island, it is situated in the south part of it and, along with Kapsali, they compose the most picturesque and impressive images. As we head to Chora, we meet the villages Strapodi and Manitochori and when we arrive, we see the Venetian Castle, which was built in 1503. There it is the “Kithira Historical Records”, with scripts and documents since 16th century. Narrow alleys with white little houses, old mansions near the caste, Venetian buildings and many more which were built when the island was ruled by the English. At the quiet central square of Chora there is the town hall, banks and other services. At the entrance of Chora there is the Archaeological Museum which travels the mind until the birth of Aphrodite. We visit Kapsali for swimming and food.
